One million solar rooftops for Australia

The Australian Conservation Foundation, Investa Property Group and RF Industries have joined together to call on both major parties to support a national ‘feed-in tariff’ to put solar  photovoltaic (PV) panels on one million Australian rooftops in 15 years, saving 4 million tonnes of greenhouse emissions and creating thousands of jobs. 


Power Partners display opens at the Sydney Home Ideas Centre

Sydney Home Ideas Centre DisplayPower Partners recently opened a display at the Sydney Home Ideas Centre. Displaying the core components of a grid connected solar PV system, the Power Partners display is a year round exhibit for renovators seeking the latest information on solar power systems for residential applications. Visitors can see BP Solar modules, inverters and the Solar Sight monitor which displays solar electricity production and usage.

Power Partners is a national dealer program with 65 members. All members are specialists in solar electric installations, the majority of these being accredited installers with the Business Council of Sustainable Energy (BCSE). RFI co-ordinates the dealer program around Australia and supplies each Power Partner with solar electric packages and components for Grid Connect, remote, industrial and recreational applications.  Consumers can locate their nearest Power Partner by calling 1300 SOLAR1 or visiting www.turnonthesun.com.au

The Home ideas centre is located at 61-63 O’Riordan St Alexandria and open daily from 9.30am-5.00pm Mon-Sat and 10-4pm Sundays and Public Holidays.


New Increased Government Rebates now available – up to $8000 off your system price!

The federal government announced in their recent budget that they have doubled the rebate available for solar panels on homes. The rebate will increase from the current $4 per Watt up to a maximum of $4,000 to $8 per Watt up to a maximum of $8,000; The new rebate rates will apply to all new applications from 9 May 2007.

The Lowdown on Rebates

PVRP

  • New PVRP is $8 per watt capped at $8,000, replacing the current $4/watt capped at $4,000
  • New rebate is available from 9th May
  • Community organisations and schools can get up to 50% of the cost of an installed PV system capped at 2kW and $12,000. Rebates for Schools and community buildings will now be administered by the AGO
  • The Home Builder and Developer component of PVRP is no longer available

ATRAA 2007 - Come and join us

Drinks and nibblies will be provided to those who drop by after a long day being personally developed or just travelling.


BP Solar Envirocashback

BP Solar EnvirocashbackBP Solar's popular EnviroCashback rebate program has been extended until 31st December 2007.

By simply filling out an application BP Solar will rebate $0.50c per watt for any solar system above 115 watts, while also ensuring the Renewable Energy Certificates (REC's) are created.
